John is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA), Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCASA), Associate Sex Addiction Therapist (ASAT), and National Certified Counselor (NCC).  He is certified to work with addictions including sex/porn addiction as well as substance use.

Specialties

John helps clients work toward fulfilling lives not controlled by stress, addiction, or relationship issues. He works with men, women, couples, and young adults struggling with stress, grief, relationship issues, addiction (including porn/sex addiction and substance use), and more. He uses a holistic approach incorporating evidenced-based treatments such as CBT, ACT, CSAT addiction treatment models, and attachment theory. He looks for dysfunctional patterns or cycles in his clients’ lives and helps them to realize the possibility of change.  In his counseling room there is only acceptance and room for all. Formerly a manager in Information Technology consulting, he can relate to clients with a corporate background.
